The Team

Jacob Chencha

Devshop Lead

Jacob Chencha (better known as Chencha) is the fearless lead developer at Moringa DevShop, spearheading all aspects of our team’s development process. Previously, Chencha was the Head of Technology at iHub, one of the most influential innovation hubs in East Africa, and also led research and development at Special Learning Inc., an ed-tech startup focused on supporting the autistic. He has 6 years of experience in software development and has taught and mentored dozens of young developers.

When not coding away wearing his lime-green headphones, Chencha loves to dance Salsa!

Andrea Szenasi

Director of Special Projects

Andrea recently joined our team as the Director of Special Projects. She has more than 8 years of software development experience under her belt working both in Romania and Canada.

Prior to joining Moringa DevShop she dipped her toes into business development by helping build up a recycling start-up social business in Moshi, Tanzania. Andrea is an avid traveller and hiker, when not at work you will probably find her planning her next adventure.

Beverly Jiang

Business Dev Manager

Beverly is Moringa DevShop’s resident jack-of-all-trades, handling all things non-development related. Beverly previously worked at Box, DocuSign and Zenefits in a range of roles including finance, marketing and operations.

Beverly is a graduate of Northwestern University with a B.A. in Economics. Beverly hails from San Francisco and in her free time, she loves to go on hikes around the Bay Area, play with her little pup, Mason, and listen to podcasts (favorites include Good Life Project, Ted Radio Hour, and StoryCorps).

Wanjugu Irene

Software Developer

A force to be reckoned with, Wanjugu is our UI/UX developer who also spends her time liaising with our clients as a business development manager. Prior to joining Moringa DevShop, Wanjugu was in the world of data analytics at Un-Habitat. Bitten by the coding bug, she decided to make a career change and become a software developer. Wanjugu enjoys design and front end work, plastering her creative juices on virtual canvases using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

When not busy at Moringa DevShop, Wanjugu can be found obsessing over the state of things at Liverpool FC or absorbed in Asian culture by virtue of Japanese Anime and Korean Dramas. Wanjugu also spends her free time as a fashion and fitness model.
